What Are ATMPs?
Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, including cell and gene therapies, represent a new era in medicine. Unlike traditional drugs, ATMPs use living cells or genetic technologies to target disease at its cellular or genetic root.
These therapies may involve processing and engineering of patient's own cells, then returning them to the body to perform a specific therapeutic function.
ATMPs include treatments such as CAR-T therapies, Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes, Mesenchymal Stem Cells, gene addition, and gene editing approaches.
